Company History

In October of 1996 Rosauers Supermarkets purchased a small South Hill grocery store called the Monroe Street Market. The Monroe Street Market was then converted to what it is today, Huckleberry's Natural Market.

Huckleberry's was the first grocer in Spokane to offer natural and organic produce, seafood, meats, dairy products and pre-packaged foods. The store instantly became a landmark for the surrounding neighborhood; a meeting place where people could get together for coffee and conversation, have a relaxing massage or aromatherapy, or just catch up with neighbors as they shopped for groceries.

Like the Monroe Street Market before it, Huckleberry's is also where the Spokane Wine Company calls home. There is no better place to buy wine in Spokane, our selection is the best in the area.

Since the opening of Huckleberry's, several satellite locations have been placed in select Rosauers Supermarkets to make it easier for people to buy great natural food, even if they don't live on Spokane's South Hill. These locations are located in Oregon, Montana and Eastern Washington.

Today, Huckleberry's is a well known and respected part of the Spokane business community. A grocery store that stands above the rest by replacing modern gimmicks, club cards and attitude, with old fashioned quality, service and warmth.
